Townend Barn is detached and situated in an acre of grounds around Townend House in the historic Dartmoor village of Lydford.  The barn is situated behind the main house, with ample off road parking. Lydford has no street lighting so after an evening meal at one of the three good restaurants in the village you can wander home under the stars. 
 
Lydford is a thriving working village and an ideal base from which to explore Dartmoor only 15 minutes walk away, at the top of the road. The surrounding area is a beautifully unspoilt part of the moor. No ice cream vans or big buses here, just glorious panoramas - once you walk up behind Widgery Cross you are truly in wilderness. We can lend you maps, guide books and binoculars.

A car in Lydford is not an essential; we offer a transfer service from Exeter Station or Exeter Airport.
